Diesel spill clean up complete near Kansas City, Missouri

D8 LogoNEW ORLEANS – Clean-up operations for the 100-gallon diesel fuel spill in the Missouri River at mile marker 360, near Kansas City, Missouri, have been completed, Tuesday.

The towing vessel Dakota reportedly released 100 gallons of diesel due to a fuel tank rupture, Monday.

The towing vessel Dakota and Terminal Petroleum, an oil spill removal organization, removed a total of 3,000 gallons of oily-water mixture.

There is no expected impact to the environment.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
