Deepwater MRS Aircraft Arrives in the US

MIAMI – The first Deepwater medium-range surveillance maritime patrol aircraft arrived in the United States on Thursday. The aircraft, an HC-144A stopped off at Air Station Miami before proceeding on to Elizabeth City, NC where more systems will be integrated into the plane.

The HC-144A is just one of a new line of aircraft being tested and designed for use by the Coast Guard as part of the Deepwater program.

The crew consisted of CDR Douglas Nash, aircraft commander, LCDR Travis Burns, co-pilot, CPO Patrick Mudg and PO1 Tom Ball. Also on board were Eads Casa Technical Representative Dan Schrift and Juan Montero, test pilot.
