Cutter Campbell returning to Maine

KITTERY, Maine – The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Campbell returns to their homeport, Saturday, in Kittery, Maine, following a month-long patrol.

The Campbell crew was deployed in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean conducting fisheries enforcement patrols and commercial vessel security boardings off the coast of New York and New Jersey. In addition to fisheries boardings, the Campbell crew also retrieved an adrift National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather buoy about 75 miles off the coast of Cape Ann, Mass., and towed it back to NOAA officials for repairs.

Coast Guard cutter Campbell is a 270-foot cutter, and has a crew of 100 officers and active-duty personnel who carry out homeland security, search and rescue, and law enforcement missions.
