CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Coast Guard held a hurricane exercise Wednesday, to ready themselves for the coming hurricane season, at the Robstown Fairgrounds in Robstown, Texas.

The exercise focused on initial response, planning, and execution during a hurricane and provided an opportunity to improve preparedness and practice command and control with Coast Guard men and women, including newly stationed members in South Texas.

“It’s important to test our contingency plans through training and exercises, so that everyone involved understand their responsibilities and can work together to respond to severe weather in South Texas,” said Lt. Cmdr. Nathan Allen, the planning section chief at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi.
