Commandant and Secretary Napolitano honor Coast Guard veterans

They gathered today in a cold rain at Arlington Cemetery to remember our fallen Guardians.   They met, as they do every year, on Coast Guard Hill, where many of the heroes and leaders of the Coast Guard have been laid to rest.

Admiral Thad Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard, and Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, took part in the Coast Guard Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony at Arlington Cemetery.

The ceremony honored the sacrifices made by Coast Guard service members, veteran’s and their families.

Admiral Allen blogged about the ceremony at Commandant’s Corner.
