Coast Guard, Washington State Department of Ecology respond to oil spill

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard and the Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) are responding to an oil spill in Belfair, Wash., Friday.

An 18-foot sailing vessel leaked an estimated 15 gallons of gasoline into the water after it started sinking.

The Coast Guard and DOE are coordinating clean-up efforts. The cause of the sinking and spill is unknown but under investigation.
