The Coast Guard dispatched a 47-foot motor lifeboat from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands, a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles and personnel from Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment Santa Barbara, Calif. Responders from California Department of Fish and Game’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response and Ventura County Fire Department are also responding.
A Unified Command has been established to manage the response.
The cause of the spill is under investigation. No reports of injured wildlife have been received at this time.
