Coast Guard transports injured boater near Bellingham, Wash.

SEATTLE — The Coast Guard transported an injured recreational boater near Bellingham, Wash., Thursday.

Coast Guard Station Bellingham was notified by cell phone that a boater was injured near Sucia Island and in need of medical transport.

Station Bellingham launched a 41-foot Utility Boat crew and transported the boater to emergency medical technicians in Bellingham.

The condition of the boater is unknown at this time.
