Coast Guard Transports FEMA Relief Supplies, Reps to Nevada Flood Scene-Video With Audio Available
ALAMEDA, Calf. – Two C-130 transport planes from Air Station Sacramento flew more than 22,000 MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) to Nevada today for victims of Saturday’s flood in Fernley, Nevada.
One C-130 arrived at Moffett Field in Mountain View Saturday afternoon to load the first pallets, and was to fly to Nevada in the evening. However, weather in Nevada prohibited the delivery and the C-130 returned to Air Station Sacramento. The plane and crew departed this morning from Sacramento at 6:30 a.m. with representatives of FEMA, and with supplies. FEMA representatives were flown to Reno. The first supply of MREs, more than 18,000 pounds, were then delivered to Naval Air Station Fallon.
This morning, a second C-130 transport plane from Air Station Sacramento arrived at Moffett Field to load additional supplies, then also flew to Naval Air Station Fallon.
