Coast Guard transports 55-year-old man from charter fishing boat

MANASQUAN, N.J. (D5 Public Affairs) – The Coast Guard medically transported a 55-year-old man today after he lost consciousness while aboard a charter fishing boat about three miles off Manasquan Inlet here.

The Coast Guard received a call at about 12:30 p.m. from a member aboard the 80-foot Jamaica II, a charter fishing boat, who reported a 55-year-old man aboard the boat had lost consciousness and didn’t have a pulse.

Members aboard the boat began CPR while making way back to shore.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet launched, met up with the Jamaica II, medically transported the patient back to their station while continuing CPR and transferred the man to awaiting EMS who pronounced the man deceased.
