Coast Guard trains with federal, state partners in Tactical Boat Course

KEY WEST, Fla. — Coast Guard crews finished a joint Tactical Boat Course with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) personnel Friday.

Tactical Boat Training by Coast Guard Station Key WestThe National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) held the five-day course at Coast Guard Station Key West. The course is designed to bring law-enforcement partners together by training alongside each other.

Throughout the course, the agencies worked together closely practicing tactical boat maneuvers and discussing best practices. Agencies were able to gain experience and trust in each other’s abilities on the water.

“Courses like these increases our operational readiness and strengthen interagency relationships within the Florida Keys,” said Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph Wozniak, a Station Key West crewmember.
