CAPE MAY, N.J. — Coast Guard members and community volunteers came together for clean-up efforts for Earth Day aboard the Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, N.J., Friday.
Coast Guard members along with civilian employees and members of the community participated in an Earth Day observance aboard the training center by picking up trash throughout the base, including base housing and by planting trees.
“We try to make the training center the best place to live and work in the Coast Guard,” said Capt. Todd Prestidge, commanding officer of the training center. “Working together to make our community the best it can be is a fundamental part of being a Coast Guard Community.”
