Coast Guard tows vessel taking on water

NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard towed a vessel taking on water with three people aboard approximately 30 miles south of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Sunday night.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Alabama, received a report of the vessel taking on water at approximately 8:34 p.m., Sunday.

Sector Mobile watchstanders directed the launch of 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crews from Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island, Alabama, and Coast Guard Station Pensacola, Florida, and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orlean.

The response boat crew from Station Pensacola arrived on scene at approximately 10:20 p.m. and towed the vessel to Sportsman Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama.
