ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard towed a disabled sailing vessel early Tuesday to Lighthouse Marina near Barnegat Inlet.
The 26-foot sailing vessel, South Cross, was disabled and adrift near the Barnegat Inlet Jetty with two poeple aboard and no anchor line.
A Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light crew aboard a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat arrived on scene and took the vessel in tow.
“It was a great feeling to see our constant training come into effect with a successful outcome,” said Petty Officer 3rd Class Stanley Zubrzycki, a Station Barnegat Light crewmember and coxswain on the case. “We always go out expecting the worst, and we do our best to turn it into a good situation.”
