Coast Guard to take Santa to Northern Marianas

HAGATNA, GUAM — A Coast Guard cutter, the 110-foot patrol boat Washington, will leave Guam Dec. 14 on a mission of importance to the children of the remote islands in the northern part of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI).

Santa will take gifts donated by the Guam Navy Officers Spouses Association and Coast Guard members will help him distribute the presents on remote atolls and islands in CNMI.

The cutter is due back in to its’ home port of Apra on Dec. 17.
