Coast Guard to set safety zone on the Allegheny River

PITTSBURGH — The U. S. Coast Guard is scheduled to set a safety zone on the Allegheny River, Sunday, in preparation for the Search for Monongy marine event.

The safety zone will be from mile marter 0.0 to 0.7, near Point State Park and will be strictly enforced form 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Mariners shall not enter into, depart from, or move within the safety zone unless specifically authorized by the captain of the port or a designated representative. All concerned traffic can contact the Coast Guard on the day of the event on VHF-FM Channel 16.
