Coast Guard to set safety zone during Apache Pier fireworks display

Southeastern Coast Guard NewsMYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Coast Guard Sector Charleston is to establish a temporary safety zone on the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach, Monday.

The safety zone will be held during the Apache Pier Sony fireworks display and will encompass all waters within a 1,000-foot radius around Apache Pier.

The safety zone will be enforced from approximately 10 p.m., till 11:15 p.m., Monday.

The safety zone is necessary to protect spectators and the general public from the hazards associated with fireworks over the navigable waters .

All persons and vessels are prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the regulated area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or a designated representative.
