Coast Guard to resume public hearing on oil spill investigation

New Orleans – The Coast Guard announced today that a public hearing regarding the July 23, 2008 collision between the motor vessel Tintomara and the towing vessel Mel Oliver will be on on Thursday at 9 a.m.  The hearing will take place at U.S. Federal Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Courtroom C-227, Hale Boggs Federal Building, 500 Poydras Street, New Orleans, La. 70130.

The collision resulted in the Coast Guard closing 37 miles of the Mississippi River as over 400,000 gallons of fuel oil were cleaned up.
