Coast Guard to restrict vessel traffic flow in St. Clair River

DETROIT – The U.S. Coast Guard, in consultation with the Canadian coast guard, has restricted vessel traffic to one-way passage with escort until Monday in the St. Clair River from Marine City to Lake St. Clair due to heavy ice throughout the St. Clair River system.

The restriction begins today at 6 p.m.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutters Mackinaw, Neah and Bristol Bay, along with Canadian coast guard ship Samuel Risley, are standing by to conduct ice breaking operations to safely escort vessels through the river system.
