BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard is scheduled to host an open house featuring boat rides, a helicopter display, free vessel safety inspections and the opportunity to talk to Coast Guard boat crew and aircrew members about boater safety at Coast Guard Station Annapolis, Maryland, Saturday May. 18, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
With boating season ramping up and National Safe Boating Week kicking off, the Coast Guard is inviting the community to come and attend an open house at Station Annapolis. Coast Guard crews will discuss different aspects of boater safety and preparedness to educate the public in an effort to minimize avoidable incidents and accidents that occur on the water. The public will get a chance to ride on a Coast Guard boat and get up-close and personal with a rescue helicopter. The Coast Guard Auxiliary will also be conducting free vessel safety inspections to make sure that boaters are ready for the water.
