BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard will establish a temporary safety zone Sept. 11 to Sept. 14 on specified waters of the Patapsco River and the Inner Harbor for the Star Spangled Spectacular.
The safety zone will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sept. 11 to Sept. 14, which will limit or prohibit navigation by commercial and recreational waterway users.
The regulated area will be in place within the Baltimore Harbor for the Blue Angels’ Air Show, including their practices and rehearsals. During these dates and times, vessel movements will be controlled in and through all waters of the Patapsco River.
In addition to the air show, the largest fireworks display ever seen in Baltimore is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 9:30 p.m.
The fireworks will be fired from six barges within the Inner Harbor. Mooring balls will be placed on Sept. 11, and the barges will be brought in Sept. 12.
Boaters must remain clear of the mooring balls and remain at least 100 feet away from the barges.
This safety zone will be in effect from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. Sept. 13, which will limit or prohibit navigation by commercial and recreational waterway users.
The regulated area will be in place within the Baltimore Harbor, closing the Patapsco River from the Inner Harbor to Fort McHenry.
