Coast Guard to establish safety zone for Charleston Harbor Blue Angels air show

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Coast Guard Captain of the Port of Charleston will establish a safety in Charleston Harbor during the Blue Angels air show Thursday through Sunday.

The safety zone will encompass a rectangular area within Charleston Harbor, and will be enforced by Coast Guard, state and local law enforcement. Boaters will not be allowed to enter the safety zone.

The safety zone will be enforced during the following times.

  • Thursday: 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.; 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Boaters can monitor the status of the safety zone on VHF channel 16 and 22 Thursday through Sunday.
