Coast Guard to establish safety zone around USS Iowa

SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Captain of the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach will establish a 100-yard safety zone around the decommissioned battleship the USS Iowa, expected to arrive the morning of May 30.

The safety zone will be in place as the ship is transiting into the port, while at temporary anchorage, and at mooring. All persons and vessels shall comply with the instructions of the Coast Guard Captain of the Port or the designated representative.

No vessel may approach the Iowa within 100-yards without permission of the Coast Guard or the assisting local law enforcement agencies.
