Coast Guard to escort casino boat to new mooring location Tuesday

Coast Guard 8th District NewsST. LOUIS – The Coast Guard is scheduled to enforce a moving safety zone on the Mississippi River, Tuesday, to accommodate a casino boat transiting between moorings.

The casino boat, Admiral, will be moved from its current moorings in St. Louis Harbor to the Luhr Brothers Facility located in Columbia, Ill. The transit will last two hours, beginning at approximately 9 a.m. The transit is approximately 14 miles, from mile marker 180, near Eads Bridge, to about mile marker 166, adjacent to Cliff Cave County Park on the upper Mississippi River.

No vessel traffic will be permitted within 50 yards of the Admiral during the entire voyage.

Mariners may contact the Coast Guard on VHF-FM channel 16 for information regarding the safety zone.
