Coast Guard to enforce Charleston Parade of Boats

Coast Guard District 7 NewsCHARLESTON – The City of Charleston Office of Culture Affairs is sponsoring the Charleston Parade of Boats Saturday, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The Charleston Parade of Boats will consist of a slow moving procession of 40 or more decorated and festively lighted crafts. The parade will begin around the Middle Grounds/Anchorage A, continue up Bennis Reach past Patriots Point, turn prior to the Ravenel Bridge and continue around the Charleston Peninsula ending at the City Marina.

The area surrounding the parade, as it moves around the harbor is a regulated area as per 33 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), part 100.701. All persons and vessels are prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the regulated area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or a designated representative.
