Coast Guard to conduct joint operation with the Army National Guard

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The United States Coast Guard will conduct joint operations with members of the United States Army National Guard and Corpus Christi Port Police Saturday and Sunday in the Coast Guard Harbor Facility in Corpus Christi.

The Coast Guard Cutter Brant, moored at the Coast Guard Harbor Facility, will host 13 Army National Guard divers from Corpus Christi. They wll participate in a a myriad of training and qualification tasks such as lost diver procedures, boat inspections, cleaning procedures. The divers will also rehearse diver emergency procedures and perform diver qualifications with newly assigned members. The purpose of the joint operation is to improve operational readiness and reinforce the relationship between the Army and the Coast Guard.
