Coast Guard to conduct exercises at Port Townsend Ferry Terminal

Columbia River response exerciseSEATTLE — Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound will be conducting several exercises at the Port Townsend Ferry Terminal Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Increased levels of activity will be noticed during these hours. Boaters and members of the public on land may see or hear training activity, including the use of blank ammunition.

Although blank ammunition looks and sounds like real gunfire, there are no bullets.

This exercise will allow all personnel involved to test their ability to respond to an incident involving various scenarios.

If anyone is unsure if a situation is unrelated to the Coast Guard exercise, they should immediately report it to the Coast Guard or local law enforcement agency.
