Coast Guard to commission new command, Chesapeake, Va.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Coast Guard Community Service Command will be commissioned at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Chesapeake, Va., Thursday, March 26, 2009.

The Coast Guard Exchange System and Morale, Welfare, and Well-Being will merge to form the new command in a commissioning ceremony to be held at 10 a.m. Rear Adm. Daniel Neptun, Commander Coast Guard Personnel Service Center will preside over the ceremony.

The CSC will oversee Coast Guard-wide delivery of CGES and MWR services. The CGES provides goods and services at a cost savings to Coast Guard members and their dependents. Revenue from the CGES is distributed to MWR programs across the Coast Guard.
