Coast Guard suspends search for possible vehicle in Lake Pontchartrain

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a possible vehicle in Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana, Thursday.

A 29-foot response boat-small crew from Coast Guard Station New Orleans reported that they observed no signs of a vehicle going in Lake Pontchartrain as a result of a multiple car accident on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge, Thursday.

Watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received the report from the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Police Department at 3:48 a.m. after a damaged guardrail was discovered on the southbound lanes of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.
