RICHMOND, Calif. – The Coast Guard suspended its search at 2:15 a.m.for a person in the water at the Richmond marina.
At approximately 9:10 on Tuesday evening, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco received a report that a man had fallen into the water at the Richmond marina while attempting to transit from a dinghy onto a larger boat. The Coast Guard immediately launched a 25-foot small boat from Station San Francisco and diverted an MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter from Air Station San Francisco to conduct a search in coordination with the Richmond Fire Department and the Richmond Police Department. Search efforts continued throughout the night. The search was suspended after the search efforts could not locate the person in the water.
The Richmond Fire Department received the initial report from Good Samaritans located nearby at the Richmond marina. It is unconfirmed at this time if the boater was wearing a life jacket. The search is suspended pending further information.
