BRUNSWICK, Ga., – The Coast Guard has suspended the search pending the development of new information for a missing swimmer off the coast of St. Simons Island, Ga.

Missing is 14-year-old female last seen wearing a white shirt.

The Coast Guard was notified at approximately 4:35 p.m. Saturday that a 14-year-old female went missing after swimming approximately 100-yards from the beach. Assisting in the search was a Coast Guard Air Station Savannah HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew, a Coast Guard Station Brunswick 25-foot rescue boat crew and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The Coast Guard reminds the boating public and beachgoers to monitor coastal and offshore weather conditions prior to swimming and boating offshore.
