Coast Guard suspends search for missing man near Jupiter Inlet

MIAMI — The Coast Guard has suspended the search for Dominic Porcaro, whose boat was found abandoned Friday morning near Jupiter Inlet.

The search was suspended at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday after Coast Guard crews searched approximately 2,900 square nautical miles by air and sea, an area larger then the state of Delaware.

Coast Guard assets including an HC-144 fixed wing aircraft, MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, Coast Guard Cutter Robert Yered and two small boat crews searched from Lake Worth to Jupiter Inlet for approximately 50 hours with no sign of Porcaro.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officialscontinue to investigate the cause of Porcaro’s disappearance.
