Coast Guard Suspends Search for Missing Florida Boater

HERNANDO BEACH, Fla.- The Coast Guard suspended its search at 1:45 p.m. today, for a 50-year-old male boater missing since Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Hernando Beach, Fla.

Michael Curl, of Hernando Beach, was discovered missing by officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) when they found his unmanned, white, 17-foot flats boat at about 12 p.m. Friday, with the keys in the ignition and the battery dead, along with various personal effects on board.

Further investigation found that Curl had left the Hernando Beach docks Wednesday morning for a fishing trip.
