Coast Guard suspends search for man near Barnegat, N.J.

BARNEGAT, N.J. – The Coast Guard has suspended the search for a missing 64-year-old man Tuesday who disappeared from aboard a 40-foot boat in Barnegat Inlet here.

The search for Clint Vanorsdell of Massachusetts was suspended at 12:19 p.m.

The Coast Guard received a call at 6:10 p.m. Monday reporting the Second Wind in Barnegat Inlet with no one aboard. The reporting source stated they saw Vanorsdell taking down his sails before entering the inlet.

Rescue boat crews from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light, rescue helicopter crews from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Ibis, members of the New Jersey State Police and local authorities searched for Vanorsdell.
