NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a missing 42-year-old man in the James River, Monday.
Coast Guard crews searched more than 230 miles for approximately three hours.
Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads watchstanders had received a call at approximately 4:30 p.m. from Newport News dispatch, reporting the man missing from a 22-foot sailing vessel.
Sector Hampton Roads issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched rescue boat crews from Station Portsmouth and a rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City.
