MIAMI — The Coast Guard has suspended its search efforts after receiving an uncorrelated mayday call near Lake Worth Beach, Tuesday.
At approximately 3:07 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received an uncorrelated mayday call via VHF-FM channel 16 marine band radio reporting a possible distress.
A Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew, an Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew and a Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet 45-foot Response Boat—Medium boatcrew searched for approximately nine hours covering approximately 758 square miles.
The Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the search.
