BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard suspended its search Sunday for two boaters who were reported overdue in Brenton Bay after Maryland Natural Resource Police located their boat moored at a friend’s home near Comb’s Creek in Leonardtown.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders received a report that the mariner failed to return from a boating trip and does not usually stay out after sunset.

St. Mary’s County Police located Spaulding’s truck and empty boat trailer at Abell’s Wharf in Leonardtown.

Sector Baltimore issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a 29-foot Response boat-Small II crew from Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, to search Breton Bay.
