Coast Guard suspends search for 15-year-old near Shark River, NJ

5th Coast Guard District NewsSHARK RIVER, N.J. — The Coast Guard suspended its search at 11:04 a.m. for a 15-year-old boy here Friday.

A 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew and a 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, N.J., an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a Coast Guard Auxiliary asset and the Neptune, N.J., Police Department searched approximately 37 square miles for approximately six hours combined.

The Coast Guard received a call at 5:57 p.m. Thursday from local authorities stating assistance was needed to search for the boy.
