Coast Guard suspends active search for person in the water near Crystal Pier

SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard suspended its active search, pending further developments for a 27-year-old man that fell in the water from Crystal Pier, in Pacific Beach, San Diego, Sunday.

Rescue crews searched more than 204 square miles with no sign of the missing man.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday, San Diego Lifeguards contacted watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector San Diego’s Joint Harbor Operations Center reporting they were searching for a missing male that fell in the water from the pier.

Multiple Coast Guard Sector San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crews and the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Haddock (WPB-87347) searched for the missing man.
