Coast Guard Station Tillamook Bay’s haunted house for charity succeeds again

Pacific Northwest Coast Guard NewsGARIBALDI, Ore. — Coast Guard Station Tillamook Bay in Garibaldi hosted its 2nd annual haunted house for charity at the Old Coast Guard Station in Garibaldi, Friday-Sunday evening.

The three-day event drew crowds from all over Northwest Oregon, raised canned food for the Tillamook County Food Bank and money for Tillamook and Neahkahnie High School 2013 graduating classes.

More than 2, 215 pounds of canned food items were donated by guests attending the haunted house. Monetary donations for the high school students are still being calculated.

The Coast Guard, Garibaldi Fire Department and many other Tillamook area community members came together to make the event a huge success.

Critics acclaimed the event to be more enjoyable and frightening than any similar haunted entertainment venue in Portland, Ore.
