BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard medevaced a 58-year-old woman Friday from a cruise ship near Smith Point.
A crewmember aboard the Grandeur of the Seas contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore at approximately 10 p.m. and requested a medevac for a 58-year-old woman who had sustained injuries during a fall.
Sector Baltimore launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes to conduct the medevac.
The RB-M crew transported the woman and her husband to Ridge Fire and Rescue at Point Lookout Marina. She was then airlifted by Maryland Life Flight Service to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
