Coast Guard Station Seattle rescues man overboard

SEATTLE – A Seattle based Coast Guard crew rescued a man from the waters north of Maury Island, Wash., Thursday.

Coast Guard Station Seattle received a distress call at 1:30 p.m. from the sailing vessel Nardia Bound reporting a man had fallen overboard. The boater, who was wearing a life jacket, was tethered to the anchored vessel but could not get back into the boat. A 25-foot response boat crew from Coast Guard Station Seattle was sent to assist.

The boat crew took the man to Des Moines, Wash., where his wife was waiting to take him to the hospital.

The man’s condition is unknown.
