SEATTLE – Lt. Ben W. Crowell succeeded Lt. Cmdr. Kristopher A. Tsairis as commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Seattle during a change-of-command ceremony at Coast Guard Base Seattle, Wednesday.
Crowell was previously assigned as the Boat Section Chief and Training Officer of the International Division’s Mobile Training Branch at Training Center Yorktown, Va.
Tsairis will report to the Coast Guard’s Office of Congressional Affairs in Washington, D.C.
Capt. Scott Ferguson, commander of Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound, Wash., presided over the ceremony.
The change-of-command ceremony is a historic Coast Guard and Naval tradition. The event, which has remained unchanged for centuries, includes a reading of the command orders in the presence of all unit crew members.
