Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral rescues injured fisherman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Coast Guard 47-foot rescue boat crew from Station Port Canaveral, Fla., rescued an injured fisherman from the 90-foot shrimp boat Lady Catherine approximately nine-miles off the Coast of Port Canaveral today.

Injured was Richard Brockly, 52.

The Coast Guard was notified at 5:19 p.m., by crew members aboard the Lady Catherine that Brockly had suffered a compound fracture to his arm. Station Port Canaveral crew members arrived on scene at 6:09 p.m., and transported Brockly ashore to medical personnel at Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral.

The Lady Catherine is homeported in Fairhope, Ala.
