Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet medevacs man off cruise ship Carnival Fascination

MIAMI — An ill man is safe after being medevaced off a cruise ship in the vicinity of Lake Worth, Florida, Sunday morning.

Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received notification of a 26-year old man aboard the cruise ship Carnival Fascination suffering symptoms of appendicitis 32 nautical miles east of Lake Worth.

After briefing the Coast Guard flight surgeon, a medevac by smallboat was recommended. Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet launched a smallboat crew, which arrived on scene, safely took the man off the cruise ship and transported him to Riviera Beach Marina where local emergency medical services personnel were waiting.

The man was in stable condition at the time of transfer to EMS.
