Coast Guard station hosts Make-A-Wish Foundation participant in Fort Myers Beach, Fla.

Southeastern Coast Guard NewsFORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — The crew of Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach hosted a Make-A-Wish Foundation participate during a tour at the station, Friday.

Luke Wiedeman toured the station and participated in a search and rescue drill aboard a 33-foot Special Purpose Craft — Law Enforcement boat with his brother Collin and family.

Luke participated in the Mobile, Ala., chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Nov. 7, 2011, which helped him make his dream of becoming a Coast Guard rescue swimmer come true.

“I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire Coast Guard service,” said Janet Albers, Luke’s mother. “From the aircrews in Mobile to the crewmembers here at Station Fort Myers Beach, thank you all so much for everything you do.”
