GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – U.S. Coast Guard Station Grand Haven will host a boating safety open house May 30-31, 2009.
The public is welcome to attend this free event on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The boating safety open house will include games, prizes, boating information and educational material for boating enthusiasts of all ages. The event is intended to be a fun filled, informative event for the whole family. Mariners can bring their vessel by land or water for a free vessel safety check by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and receive educational material to keep you and your family safe.
National Safe Boating Week began May 16 and concluded May 22, but the Coast Guard would like to remind all boaters that boating safety is not only a week of attentive detail to safety but a conscious decision that lasts all season long.
