Coast Guard Station Atlantic City to host boating safety open house

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the New Jersey State Marine Police are scheduled to hold a boating safety open house for the public Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coast Guard Station Atlantic City located at 900 Beach Thorofare, Atlantic City, N.J., 08401.

Members of Coast Guard Station Atlantic City will be offering tours of their rescue boats and the station. Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting a rescue flare demonstration. A helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City will be performing a search and rescue demonstration at 11:30 a.m.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering free vessel safety checks at the Farley State Marina located at 600 Huron Ave, Atlantic City, N.J., 08401, near Station Atlantic City during the entire event.

The New Jersey State Marine Police and the Coast Guard Auxiliary will have boating safety information booths at the open house.

“This is a joint effort with the Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the New Jersey State Marine Police to promote boating safety,” said Lt. Jeffrey Craig, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Atlantic City.
