ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced an injured man Friday from a recreational boat that ran aground near Ocean City, N.J.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Atlantic City received a call at about 8 a.m. from a Sea Tow employee responding to an aground 23-foot pleasure craft west of Ocean City between Cowpens Island and the Stainton Memorial Causeway stating that one of the two people aboard the grounded boat had been injured by a stingray.
Coast Guard Station Atlantic City launched a 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew to assist. The crew arrived on scene and took the injured man aboard. The crew then took him to All Seasons Marina in Marmor where he was placed in the care of local EMS.
Sea Tow towed the recreational vessel and the other boater to All Seasons Marina.
