BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard is searching Friday for a boater who was reported overdue when he failed to arrive at Whithall Creek in Annapolis on time.

Missing is James Lewis Thomas, last seen wearing a grey shirt.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a report from a friend of Thomas, stating Thomas left from Crab Alley Marina in Chester and had not arrived at Whithall Creek at the planned time. Thomas was last known to be aboard a white 22-foot boat with a blue bimini top.

Sector Baltimore issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Annapolis to search.
